New Name Noah: Hero, Whistleblower, or TOXIC Rule-Breaking Activist? | The Mike Norton Story
Mike Norton, better known as New Name Noah, became one of the most influential—and controversial—figures in the ex-Mormon movement.
His hidden-camera recordings from inside LDS temples exposed ceremonies that had long been kept private, bringing unprecedented public attention to Mormon temple practices. Supporters viewed him as a whistleblower providing valuable information to prospective temple attendees. Critics saw him as someone who repeatedly violated church rules, property rights, and legal boundaries to achieve his goals.
In this video, we examine Mike's rise to internet fame, the hidden-camera temple recordings that made him famous, his clashes with church authorities, his transition into First Amendment activism, and the ethical questions that continue to surround his legacy.
Was New Name Noah performing a public service by documenting previously secret religious ceremonies? Or did his methods ultimately undermine the principles he claimed to defend?
We'll explore both sides and let viewers decide.
