How Cardon Ellis Became a Tool | Ward Radio, Mormonism, and the Power of Religious Indoctrination
I've spent years responding to Cardon Ellis and Ward Radio, critiquing what I see as some of the most flawed arguments coming out of modern Mormon apologetics. But this video isn't just about Cardon—it's about the environment that produced him.
How does someone become so confident in ideas that collapse under basic scrutiny? What role do religious indoctrination, church culture, and information control play in shaping a public personality like Cardon Ellis?
In this episode, I discuss:
• The LDS Church's approach to history, authority, and belief
• Why Mormon epistemology often prioritizes feelings over evidence
• Cardon's strengths as a media personality and content creator
• Ward Radio's appeal to a largely male audience
• The role of patriarchy in contemporary Mormon culture
• Why critics and ex-Mormons are frequently demonized by Mormon influencers
• The similarities between Cardon's rhetorical style and modern populist politics
• Whether Ward Radio is helping or hurting the Church's public image
I also address Cardon's tendency to label critics with extreme comparisons while avoiding meaningful engagement with many of the strongest challenges to LDS truth claims.
To be clear, this video is not about personal attacks. It's about ideas, influence, and understanding how belief systems shape public discourse.
What do you think? Is Ward Radio strengthening Mormonism, damaging it, or simply reflecting where the Church already is?
