After 3,000 Videos... Here's What I'm Most Proud Of
For more than four years, I've tried to do something different.
When the Mormon News Roundup began, there wasn't a weekly Mormon news show covering LDS news from a consistently critical perspective. Since then, this channel has grown into one of the most prolific Mormon and ex-Mormon media projects online, producing more than 3,000 videos and reaching more than 10 million views and downloads across YouTube, podcasts, and social media.
In this video I look back on the milestones that make this channel unique:
• One of the first weekly critical Mormon news podcasts
• The first weekly Mormon news show to consistently expand into video
• More than 100 Mormon movie reviews
• Coverage by Religion News Service and The Salt Lake Tribune
• Receiving a cease-and-desist letter from the LDS Church and hiring legal counsel to respond
• Hosting one of the widest ranges of guests in Mormon media—from faithful Latter-day Saints to outspoken critics
• Creating one of the largest collections of Mormon parody music videos online
• Experimenting with AI filmmaking to tell Mormon stories in ways that hadn't been attempted before
Whether you've watched one video or hundreds, thank you for being part of this journey.
