Savannah’s LDS Lesbian Story: Silenced by the Mormon Church, Celebrated by the World

Watch on YouTube

On May 7, 2017, Savannah did something incredibly brave—she came out as gay to her LDS ward.

What followed was heartbreaking. Her voice was cut off mid-testimony.

But her story didn’t end there.

Savannah would go on to be recognized by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) for her courage, becoming a voice for countless LGBTQ+ individuals who have felt silenced in their own faith communities.

In this video:
• The full story behind Savannah’s testimony
• The part of her talk that was cut off
• Personal reflections from Savannah herself
• What #LoveLoud really means

“You are a voice for millions afraid to speak. Be their voice. Be you.”

This is more than a story—it’s a reminder that authenticity matters, even when it comes at a cost.
