Reacting to a MORONIC Viral LDS TikTok | The Mormon Church’s Wealth Hoard Is INDEFENSIBLE
A viral TikTok confidently declares: “The Mormon Church has lots of money.”
Yes. It does.
But that statement barely scratches the surface of the moral disaster underneath it.
In this reaction video, I respond point-by-point to eight common defenses of the LDS Church’s massive wealth—and explain why none of them hold up under scrutiny.
We only know the true scale of the Church’s fortune because of whistleblowers and watchdogs like Ryan McKnight, David Nielsen, and Eric Nielsen. Without their courage, the Church would still be hiding behind decades of deliberate financial opacity. Their actions likely saved families, retirees, and struggling members hundreds of millions—possibly billions—of dollars in unnecessary tithing.
Topics covered in this episode include:
Why Ensign Peak changes everything
The myth that hoarding wealth is “prudent” or Christlike
How tithing functions as coercion, not charity
The Church’s $300+ billion stockpile vs. its minimal charitable giving
Commercial real estate investments, malls, farms, and warehouses
The lie of “no paid clergy” and the lack of financial transparency
Why secular billionaires now out-moralize the so-called one true church
Why the LDS Church should join The Giving Pledge—and why it won’t
This isn’t about jealousy, bitterness, or “hating the Church.”
It’s about moral priorities.
An institution that claims divine authority while hoarding obscene wealth as hunger, disease, and homelessness persist is not righteous—it’s immoral. Until the LDS Church embraces transparency, accountability, and generosity on a scale that matches its claims, its fortune stands as a monument to greed, not goodness.
