Mormon Apologetics Is FAILING — Even Their Own Motto Proves It!

Watch on YouTube

For decades, Neal A. Maxwell and LDS apologists leaned on a powerful quote from Austin Farrer:

“Though argument does not create conviction, the lack of it destroys belief.”

It became the unofficial motto of Mormon apologetics—from FARMS to FAIR to the Maxwell Institute.

But what happens when the Church can no longer defend its own truth claims?

In this episode, we break down why that very quote now exposes a growing crisis inside The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. From the Book of Abraham controversy to polygamy, prophetic fallibility, and historical transparency—modern members aren’t leaving because they’ve been “argued out” of belief…

They’re leaving because the arguments aren’t there.

Or worse—they don’t hold up.

We also connect this to insights from C. S. Lewis and modern voices like Neil deGrasse Tyson, showing why belief is rarely built on logic—but often collapses without it.

👉 If faith was never built on reason… can apologetics ever rebuild it?
