😡 LDS Church Attorney Tells Mormon Seminary Teacher: Don’t Report Child Abuse

Watch on YouTube

In a disturbing Mormon Stories episode, former seminary teacher Riley Davis recalls calling the LDS Church abuse hotline after a student disclosed signs of abuse. Instead of support, the Church’s attorney advised him not to report it—telling him to ignore mandatory reporting laws.

Riley knew this was wrong. He turned to the school counselor, who confirmed his legal duty: report suspected abuse. He did the right thing—despite the Church trying to stop him.

This is not an isolated case. It’s part of a systemic pattern of the LDS Church protecting abusers and silencing victims to shield its reputation. From child abuse to domestic violence, the Church’s priority has too often been institutional survival over human safety.

👉 In this episode, we expose:

How the LDS Church abuse hotline works (and who it really protects)
Riley Davis’ firsthand story as a mandatory reporter pressured to break the law
Tim Kosnoff’s chilling warning about the Church’s refusal to submit to accountability
The broader pattern of cover-ups, silencing, and victim-blaming

Until the Church chooses transparency and accountability, no victim is safe. Members need to ask themselves: Whose side is my church really on?
