🔍 I Was Wrong About Maven: Why I Regret My Silence on the Mormon Discussions Fallout
I’m honestly embarrassed that I never made an episode about the Maven and Mormon Discussions controversy until now. That was a major mistake—a moral failing, really. I should’ve used my platform to support a friend and shine a light on what I saw as a troubling injustice. I want to sincerely apologize to Maven and share my perspective on how it all unfolded.
In this episode, I reflect on:
- Maven’s powerful journey and contributions to the post-Mormon space
- Our collaborations on Mormon News Roundup and Reel Talk Mormonism
- My reaction to her abrupt and underwhelming sendoff from Mormonism LIVE!
- The systemic issues this situation reveals about MD’s values and platform priorities
- Why I believe accountability matters more than protecting donations or reputations

📣 Comment below with your thoughts—I’m especially interested in hearing from women and others who saw this situation unfold in real time.
I don’t claim to have all the answers, but I do believe we need to talk openly about this. Silence enables harm.
Since posting this video, Bill and Mormon Stories have banned me from all online spaces, Bill and John D have unfriended me, and Bill and MS have blocked me from seeing their profiles or public forums.
One point of correction, BYP appeared on an episode of ML after he left MD.
